BEFORE YOUR ARRIVAL TO TORTUGUERO
Our staff is trained in all health and safety protocols. They have implemented the regulations established by Costa Rica’s Health Ministry.
Rooms and common areas have been deeply disinfected.
Our social areas have been set up to maintain a distance of 1.8 meters between social bubbles and are at 50% of their usual capacity.
DURING YOUR JOURNEY TO TORTUGUERO
We will take every person’s body temperature when boarding land or water transport.
All travelers are required to wear face masks on all transport and during all tours.
Areas such as seats, armrests, and common spaces are disinfected before and after each use.
Life jackets are disinfected before and after each use.
We will disinfect your luggage before you board our boats.
We maintain control over cleaning procedures through logs and navigation plans.
We seek the greatest possible social distancing on transfers.
We remind everyone about the importance of following protocols with signs.
Our guides have been trained to follow these protocols.
AT MAWAMBA LODGE
There are eight disinfection areas (with a sink, liquid soap, towels, and hand sanitizer) at strategic points in the public spaces. These are in addition to the public bathrooms that you will find in the pool and café areas.
Please wear your mask at all times in common areas. During meals, you can remove it while distancing from other social bubbles.
Please always keep a distance of 1.8 meters from other social bubbles.
When using the pool, please keep your distance from other social bubbles.
In the Reception, restaurant, and bar areas, we have placed glass partitions for your and our safety.
Our staff will always wear face masks while working in public areas.
We appreciate you following the instructions of the guides and staff when indicated.
We can only serve two people at a time in Reception. All others must wait outside following instruction signs as to where to wait.
In the restaurant and bar areas, our staff will offer you hand sanitizer when you sit down.
Tables are labeled to indicate they are disinfected and enabled for use.
Once cleaned and disinfected, the cutlery is placed in a paper bag to guarantee it remains uncontaminated.
Our kitchen staff follows all safe food handling protocols.
We regularly and consistently clean all public spaces, and we maintain strict control over these cleaning procedures.
Please remember to wash your hands frequently, do not touch your face if you have not washed them, and follow the proper protocols if you must cough or sneeze.
For privacy, we do not clean rooms during guests’ stay. If you would like your room cleaned, please ask in Reception.
FLEXIBILITY IN CANCELLATIONS
If you must cancel your reservation due to the pandemic, we will apply flexible cancellation policies. If you cannot travel for medical reasons, a document from your doctor or the hospital will be enough to cancel your reservation without charge.
If you must cancel your reservation due to pandemic travel restrictions in your home country, or if you must return early, we will not apply cancellation charges.
If you have already paid for your reservation, we will be happy to extend you a credit to be used for one year.
